On June 17th, 2007, I ran my '61 Alfa
Romeo Giulietta in the Alfa Owners of New England autocross event in the
parking lot of the Nashoba Ski Area in Westford, MA. It's the
first time that the Alfa club has done autocrossing in over 15 years,
and first time that I've done it ever. Everybody got six timed
runs, and your best run of the day competes against other
similarly-modified cars in your class. I surprised (nay, shocked)
myself by coming in second in my class (of 5 cars). Guess it goes to show that
all those years of tractor driving on the farm finally paid
off.....................
download and view the video (taken by Vi). It's a 10-megabyte
WMV video file, so may take a little while to download. It
includes footage of three of my runs, plus part of a run by the Alfa GTV
that used to belong to bro John before the camera battery died.
And you can click
here to download a shorter video of part of a run taken more
close-up by Lon Barrett. It's a 3-megabyte MPEG video file.
