Kitchen Ceiling Update

An Exercise in Project Escalation

Here are a few photos from the 2014 project of repairing our kitchen ceiling, which was impossible to keep from peeling, and there was also water damage around the chimney. (We had the chimney rebuilt from the roofline up a few weeks earlier.) The plan was to simply add a new layer of sheet rock, a little plaster and paint, and we're done!

But "while we were at it", we decided to insulate the space above the ceiling, which required holes to be drilled, so it was the ideal time to do it, right? Unfortunately, the insulators (one of whom actually spoke a little English) cut through several wires in the ceiling, blowing three fuses and severing one circuit completely, all of which will require some after-the-fact electrical work.

Anyway, on with the show!
